With the expansion, the DFS operator will allow fans to create their own rosters from players on both teams, then go head to head with one another to win real-world money.
DFS is extremely popular especially surrounding the Super Bowl as it is one of the biggest sporting events of the year. DraftKings saw this as the perfect time to expand into the Canadian Market.
“The relationship we share with the NFL is important for DraftKings to provide customers a great experience,” said Ezra Kucharz, Chief Business Officer at DraftKings. “This expanded agreement gives us a unique opportunity in the Canadian market, and we look forward to working with the team at the NFL Canada as we continue to shape the modern fan experience.”
DraftKings leveraging its partnership with the NFL is not surprising. The league has embraced DFS as a way to increase fan engagement and overall improve the football experience.
Extending this experience to Canada is just another step in that process. Canadian officials have shown their excitement as well, seeing the positives in the expansion.
“The popularity of Daily Fantasy in Canada continues to rise, providing a great point of connectivity for our fans to engage with the NFL,” said Gavin Kemp, NFL Canada Director of Corporate Partnerships. “As the Official Daily Fantasy Partner of the NFL in Canada, this partnership with DraftKings will enhance the Canadian fan’s experience with unique and innovative gaming experiences.”
The app is available for download right now for Canadian players. With Super Bowl 55 kicking off this Sunday, February 7 at 6:30 p.m. EST, now is the perfect time for players to build their teams.
