Breaking Down The Eastern Conference Odds
The East lines up much easier than the West, which runs into conflicts around the 7-12 seeds. Though not all favorites will hit, the order came by using the favored side of the line.
The contenders in the East all have their under favored, except for the Nets. They sit with standard odds on both sides.
- Celtics Under 2.5 -145
- Bucks Under 3.5 -120
- Nets 3.5
- 76ers Under 4.5 -120
- Heat Under 5.5 -130
Heading into the teams on the verge, most favor the under. But, the Hawks fall into a 9 seed. Despite being seeing the over at 6.5 favored, to get the Bulls in line, they must drop another position.
- Cavs Under 6.5 -130
- Raptors 6.5
- Bulls Under 8.5 -145
- Hawks Over 6.5 -120
The teams on the outside looking in can see changes and may be the most difficult to predict.
- Knicks Under 10.5 -160
- Hornets Over 10.5 -130
- Wizards Under 11.5 -130
- Pistons Under 13.5 -160
- Pacers Under 14.5 -130
- Magic Over 13.5 -150
Breaking Down The Western Conference Odds
In the West, things aren’t as clear cut. Contenders see a big switch due to the Nuggets massive odds. Though having standard odds at 5.5, the Mavericks would see their over hit.
- Clippers Under 3.5 -130
- Warriors Over 3.5 -120
- Suns Over 3.5 -130
- Nuggets Under 5.5 -4000
- Grizzlies Over 4.5 -130
- Mavericks 5.5
Teams on the verge have some major switch-ups. The Lakers fall 3.5 spots from their over-under. This is due to the Pelicans standard odds and the Trail Blazers odds to hit the under.
- Timberwolves Over 5.5 -130
- Lakers Over 6.5 -150
- Pelicans 7.5
- Trail Blazers Under 9.5 -120
For the western teams outside of the playoffs, the Kings see their line move the most. With an over-under at 10.5, they would fall to 14 to supplement the favorites.
- Kings Over 10.5 -200
- Jazz Under 13.5 -170
- Thunders Under 13.5 -130
- Rockets Under 13.5 -120
- Spurs Over 13.5 -150
This isn’t a prediction on how teams will finish. Instead, it it using the NBA odds at legal sports betting sites to determine how the sportsbook sees it. Keep in mind not all favorites will hit, but if all goes as anticipated, this is what we would see.
