Following last week’s dramatic eight-hole playoff win between Harris English and Kramer Hickok at the Travelers, the Rocket Mortgage Classic has quite the act to follow.
Luckily, this tournament should be a birdie-fest with previous winner’s scores being -23 and -25 under-par.
The course is set up as a Par 72 with a distance around 7400 yards from the tips. While the course does play well for accurate players, it was the bombers like DeChambeau that tore the place up last year.
With that in mind, there are a few names that jump off the board this week.
Bryson DeChambeau +700
Even as the pre-tournament favorite Bryson can simply not be ignored this week.
Last year was Bryson’s true coming out party at this event as he debuted his new power swing off the tee en route to becoming the longest driver on Tour.
He is still the longest man off the tee in 2021, and will be a force to reckon with this weekend.
Still going? Still going. 😂

The biggest stat on the leaderboard last year at the RMC was Strokes Gained: Off The Tee, which Bryson currently placed first on Tour in.
Bryson also places fifth on Tour in strokes gained tee-to-green, meaning he able to hit his second shots effectively. While the +700 price tag is not appetizing, smart golf bettors will be able to watch Bryson throughout the first round and hopefully pick him up on the live odds at +1000 or better.
Joaquin Niemann +2200
Joaquin Niemann has been playing very consistent golf while also bombing it off the tee in recent weeks.
He ranks in the top 10 on Tour in SG: off the tee and total scoring average, with a Top 20 ranking in Par 5 scoring average. Niemann has all the tools to put together another impressive performance this week on a course that should suit his eye just fine.
Those looking to bet on golf can get him at a good price for a top ten finish, or a matchup bet with another mid range player.
Cameron Tringale +4000
Cam Tringale has been elevating his game all season while remaining in the top demographic of all major statistical categories.
He had a tremendous run at the PGA Championship and has third place finishes at the Valspar Championship and the RSM Classic within the last year.
This could be the tournament that the Triangle needs to finally cross that threshold into victory lane.
Doc Redman +5000
The Doctor is in this weekend in Detroit where he also has a great shot at snagging his first Tour victory.
Redman has made the cut in both his appearances at this course including a stellar runner up finish in 2019. He is only better since that appearance and is available for a great price.
This field is scarce enough that Doc should be able to shine and finish near the top group, or even atop the leaderboard.
