Pickett Starting Career Against SB-Favored Bills

• The Steelers are playing the Bills in Buffalo on Sunday afternoon and the Bills are 14-point favorites for the game and have -900 odds to get the victory.
• Kenny Pickett is expected to get his first career NFL start on Sunday and the Rookie will be trying to keep the Steelers away from a 1-4 start to the season.
• The Bills have been the favorite in all four games in 2022 but have covered the spread in two of their games and the Steelers coved the spread in seven of their 12 games in 2021 as underdogs.

BUFFALO, NY – The Pittsburgh Steelers are visiting the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and the Bills are favored by the largest margin of week five at 14 points. Kenny Pickett is expected to make his first career NFL start, as Mike Tomlin and the Steelers are trying to avoid a 1-4 start to the season.

Kenny Pickett came off the bench for Mitch Trubisky during the Steeler’s week four loss to the Jets and punched two rushing TDs during his debut. Even though his first throw was an interception, Pickett  showed his potential by completing 10 of his 13 passes and 120 total yards.

Including a win during the 2021 season, the Steelers are 11-3 playing against the Bills and 5-1 against the Bills on the road. While the Bills are extreme favorites at home at legal betting NFL sites, they displayed some different struggles in week four against the Ravens. The two teams are at the opposite end of the spectrum with the Bills having the shortest Super Bowl odds at +400 and the Steelers having the +15000 odds.

The Bills and Steelers met for the first game of the 2021 season and the Bills were a 6.5-point favorite for the game. This last matchup took place in Pittsburgh and the Steelers ended up winning by seven points.

Betting on Pittsburgh Covering Again

The Bills started the 2022 season in dominant fashion by beating both the Rams and the Titans by more than 21 points. After a week-three loss to the Dolphins, the bills bounced back in week four but only won by three and did not cover the legal betting 3.5 -point spread.

The Steeler’s largest point differential was 12 for the 2022 season, in a loss against the Browns in week two. Pittsburgh’s other three games were within four points in 2022, making the Steelers -110 odds at Bovada to cover the spread favorable against the Bills, who’s last two games have ended within three points.

When playing as the underdog, the Steelers covered the spread in seven out of 12 of their 2021 games as an underdog. The Bills played eight games in 2021 as the favorite at home and failed to cover the spread in three and pushed the spread in two.
