DETROIT, Mich. — PointsBet has announced that they have partnered with the Detroit Red Wings just a few days ahead of the launch of online sports betting in Michigan.
This is now the third Detroit sports team that is going to be teaming up with PointBet as they have partnered with the Detroit Pistons as well earlier in 2021 and also with the Detroit Tigers last July.

Being that this is now PointsBet’s third partnership with a Detroit based sports team, it is clear that they are looking to take over the state’s legal sports betting market.
The state of Michigan legalized land-based and online sports betting back in December of 2019 and it will finally be put into action in the next coming days.
With this partnership with the Red Wings, it opens up plenty of new opportunities for fan engagement. One of the additions is a PointsBet sports bar that will not only feature plenty of food and drinks and TVs but it will also bring in person sports betting to the arena as they will also live betting odds to those attending the home games.
“Our fans will enjoy the lively atmosphere of the PointsBet Sports Bar and the energy this partnership will bring to the game-day experience in and around Little Caesars Arena— We are proud to deepen our relationship with PointsBet and we look forward to creating dynamic experiences for our fans,” said Chris Granger, Group President or Sports & Entertainment, Ilitch Holdings, Inc.
Along with their partnership, PointsBet is also set to expected to release their online and mobile sports betting applications sometime in early 2021.
