- Sportsbook operator PointsBet has reached a deal to become the official betting partner of the Korn Ferry Tour’s TPC Colorado Championship at Heron Lakes.
BERTHOUD, Colo. – The world of golf is entering a new age both on and off the course.
Announced this week, major sports betting brand PointsBet will become the official partner of the TPC Colorado Championship. This event is held on the Korn Ferry Tour, golf’s proving ground for young talent, and is held at the Heron Lakes golf course.
Colorado is one of the select states to open up regulated sportsbooks, and has enjoyed legal sports betting since 2020. The deal will make PointsBet the sole proprietor of sports betting for the event, which will include the platform sponsoring all retail and online sports betting, daily fantasy, and online casino gaming features.
This is a big move in response to DraftKings becoming the official sports betting partner of TPC Scottsdale in Arizona.
Now, visitors to the tournament will be able to enjoy exclusive PointBet offerings and services like never before.
“PointsBet is the only major sports betting operator headquartered in Colorado, and as a result, we take a great amount of pride in being able to invest and actively participate in the local community,” said Johnny Aitken, the CEO of PointsBet. “We are thrilled to join forces with the TPC Colorado Championship team – they make a positive impact in our home state year after year, and they also recognize the synergies between golf and sports betting just like our forward-thinking partners at the PGA TOUR and NBC Sports. We look forward to innovating and contributing alongside TPC Colorado and the Korn Ferry Tour for years to come.”
PointsBet was quick to jump at the event that has long stood to benefit local charities. In the last two years, Heron Lakes and the TPC Colorado have generated over $50,000 in money for the local community.
“We are excited to partner with PointsBet,” said Drew Blass, the Tournament Director of the TPC Colorado Championship at Heron Lakes. “As a renowned global brand with its U.S. headquarters in Colorado, PointsBet has an exciting vision for growing fan engagement and providing innovative sports betting products. This partnership will allow us to make an even larger impact in our local community, which is always the key priority for our tournament.”
This move will likely be a new trend among sports betting brands. The game of golf is naturally expanding more to bettors, and those looking to wager on the PGA Tour would love the ability to do so with a more integrated experience.
