- PointsBet USA will now be offering its members a constant live streaming option via their website and mobile application.
- The new streaming expansion with Betgenius will give gamblers that use PointsBet in the six states where it’s available better odds and bets for live in-game wagers.
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – PointsBet will now be providing streaming services through the streaming product offered by their partner Betgenius.
The Genius Sports Group, the parent corporation to Betgenius, has struck up a new deal that will expand upon their longstanding contract with PointsBet.
This expansion will allow for more live in-game betting action with the sportsbook as sports bettors in the country with access to their platform will have even more information available to them for wagering on matchups live.
The New Streaming Service By PointsBet
PointsBet has a presence in the United States in six states; Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and New Jersey. The new streaming feature will be open on both the sportsbook’s website and mobile application in these states for members to use.
The original partnership between the two companies was for Betgenius to provide accurate and up-to-date official league data on sporting events. Now they will be supplying both the statistics and streaming services for the platform.
Live in-game betting accounts for 50% of a gambler’s activity, on average. With the addition of a streaming aspect, PointsBet will be able to offer the very best way for bettors of the games to engage in these types of wagers.
It could also lead to a spike in the popularity of this betting type with all of the new information they will be featuring on various matchups for their players to access.
“The average U.S. sports bettor currently shows almost a perfect 50/50 split of placing bets prior to the start of competition versus placing bets in-play. Industry experts and the PointsBet team agree that wagering will trend more and more toward in-play as the U.S. market matures – a natural shift given the consistent overlap of U.S. sporting events, as well as the structure of U.S. sports allowing for micro-markets like the next ‘at-bat’ in baseball or the ‘next drive’ in football,” said Ron Shell, VP Customer & Insights at PointsBet USA. “While this partnership with Betgenius is just the tip of the iceberg for PointsBet in terms of streaming, it is an important first step toward strengthening our foundation for success as the popularity of in-play wagering increases.”
What Will Be Seen At PointsBet With Its Latest Feature
There are expected to be thousands of streaming options seen on PointsBet, all happening live. There will be coverage on numerous events that will be spanning the sports spectrum as well as the globe.
Each event will include the most competitive betting prices and plenty of wagers and figures tied to each match. Not only is live betting expected to see a surge through the legal sportsbook, but the constant content via streaming, especially during off-peak times is slated to bring in bigger profit margins for the sports betting business.
“We’re thrilled to launch Streaming with our first U.S. customer. Offering a unique and differentiated betting experience has allowed PointsBet to grow impressively in the U.S. over the last two years. With competition fierce, standing out in the market is more important now than ever, and our Streaming service provides an exciting and powerful way to do that,” said Bill Anderson, SVP – U.S. at Genius Sports Group.
