WASHINGTON – With Election Day less than 24 hours away, voters are racing to the polls to elect who the President of the United States will be for the next four years. But, while Donald Trump and Joe Biden are receiving all the attention, election odds for Kanye West are still on the board.

Kanye West first declared his run for the presidency on the Fourth of July this year via Twitter.

Odds for Kanye West to win the presidential election at the time were set at +6,600 by sites like Bovada.

Although he’s been taken off that odds board, betting odds for how many votes Kanye West will receive and what place he will finish within the electoral college have all been seeing action in the days leading up to Nov. 3.

How Many Votes Will Kanye Get

The amount of votes Kanye West will be able to receive is severely limited due to the fact that he is only on the ballot in 11 states. Those states are Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, and Vermont.

West missed the Presidential access deadline in 29 states which included ones with a substantial amount of voters such as California, Florida, New York, and Texas.

With this in mind, it’s easy to see why the election odds are set the way they are for this prop bet.

Despite Kanye’s limited access to voters, he has spent a significant amount of money on campaigning. According to the Federal Election Commission, West has spent nearly $12 million on his campaign.

This past weekend, West took to the New York Times to put a political ad where he urged voters to write him in when they went to vote.

Those betting on this prop will have to rely primarily on voters writing him in, but too much action shouldn’t be put on this prop.

What Place Will Kanye Finish In The Election

While Kanye might not have odds to win the Presidential Election bettors can still put action on what place he will finish overall. When looking at the betting odds, it seems as though sportsbooks are leaning towards a fifth-place performance.

Jo Jorgensen is the libertarian party nominee where Howie Hawkins is the nominee for the Green Party. Kanye West is also running as a third-party candidate, but the overall climate for third parties is down this election season.

“This is not a good year for third parties, because Trump is such a monster,” said Ralph Nader, former Green Party candidate in the 2000 presidential election. “And people are so afraid of what would happen if he had a second term that they don’t even want to think third party.”

According to surveys conducted by Pew Research Center last month, four percent of respondents said they planned to vote for Jorgensen while only 1% planned to vote for Hawkins.

The coronavirus also was a big hit on third-party candidates. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the grassroots campaigning that third-party candidates usually take was undercut severely.

This could work to Kanye West’s advantage since his name alone has greater popularity than either candidate that is favored ahead of him for these betting props. Legal sports betting sites are also giving him large odds for both of these betting lines.

The best bet of the night could be to take Kanye West finishing fourth in the popular vote. He won’t be in enough states to claim third place. But bettors could put a little action on fans of Yeezy or those that are tired of the two-party system to vote for him instead.
