Dallas Cowboys

  • The game total between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys is set at 51.5 points.
  • The Minnesota Vikings have (-170) odds to beat the Cincinnati Bengals.
  • The Carolina Panthers are 5-point favorites over the New York Jets.

LAS VEGASWeek 1 of the NFL season begins next week and it is time to get picks in for the start of the best time of year for sports bettors. The most popular betting lines to choose from are game lines, being that anything that happens on the field affects any other bets made on either the moneyline, spread, or total points.

There are five games to circle in on with online sportsbooks for Week 1, including the season opener between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys on September 9 for Thursday Night Football.  Great betting lines are available for all of the NFL games on the schedule that will be played through Sunday.

Thursday Night Football: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vs. Dallas Cowboys

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vs. Dallas Cowboys

  • Moneyline: Buccaneers -350
  • Spread: Buccaneers -7.5
  • Total: 51.5 Points

The matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dallas Cowboys is slated to be a defensive onslaught. Although both teams have plenty of offensive star power, both defenses have just as much talent. which points in the direction of a lower-scoring game.

The Buccaneers had a top ten defense in 2020, allowing just over 22 points per game. They were able to bring back all of their starters on the defensive line and have a great matchup against a Dallas Cowboys team that is coming off loads of injuries from 2020. The Cowboys’ defense, although having an off season in 2020, is bound to make a comeback in 2021 and start the year with defense game strategies on their minds.

Pick: Under 51.5 Points

Sunday Football: Minnesota Vikings Vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Minnesota Vikings Vs. Cincinnati Bengals

  • Moneyline: Vikings (-170) vs. Bengals (+150)
  • Spread: Vikings -3.5
  • Total: 44.5 Points

The NFL odds in this matchup are eye-opening and Minnesota’s side of the line is very enticing. The Vikings could not have asked for a better Week 1 matchup against a Bengals team that has no direction whatsoever. The Bengals were in the bottom half of the league on defense in 2020 and have arguably the worst offensive line in the entire league.

On the other hand, the Vikings used their offseason to revamp their defense above and beyond. With the addition of Patrick Peterson, Dalvin Tomlinson, Xavier Woods, and others, they are sure to give the Bengals lackluster offense a lot of trouble. Further than their defense, the Vikings offense has enormous expectations behind Justin Jefferson, Dalvin Cook, and Adam Thielen, who could all come out of the gate swinging in Week 1.

Backing this pick, even more, is that in the last four meetings between the two, the favorite has gone 4-0 against the spread.

Pick: Vikings -3.5

Sunday Football: Carolina Panthers Vs. New York Jets

Carolina Panthers Vs. New York Jets

  • Moneyline: Panthers (-235) vs. Jets (+195)
  • Spread: Panthers -5
  • Total: 44.5 Points

The showdown between the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets is a redemption game for Sam Darnold to go up against his former team. Darnold, who spent three seasons with the Jets, should be very familiar with their defense. Enough so to where he should be able to read them very well.

The Jets are also a very young and newly put together team behind a rookie quarterback, new running back group, and new faces on defense. The Carolina Panthers should have their way here for this one and cover the spread with no problem.

The Panthers were a solid team against the spread last season going 9-7, while the Jets sat way behind at 6-10.

Pick: Panthers -5

Sunday Football: Kansas City Chiefs Vs. Cleveland Browns

Kansas City Chiefs Vs. Cleveland Browns

  • Moneyline: Chiefs (-270) vs. Browns (+220)
  • Spread: Chiefs -6
  • Total: 53 Points

This is one of the most highly anticipated games on the Week 1 slate because the Chiefs are the biggest powerhouse in the league and the Browns have emerged as one of the fastest-rising teams. These two teams met in the 2020 playoffs and it was a shootout but a close game with the Chiefs winning 22-17.

Looking at the Browns though, their offense continues to gain chemistry every time they step on the field. Their defense also has high expectations on them with the leadership of Myles Garrett, the emergence of Greedy Williams and Denzel Ward, and the addition of Jadaveon Clowney.

Something to take note of with this game is that the Chiefs’ run defense was in the bottom 15 of the league and with Nick Chubb leading the way on the ground, they are capable of holding their own against the league’s best.

Pick: Browns +6

Sunday Football: New England Patriots Vs. Miami Dolphins

New England Patriots Vs. Miami Dolphins

  • Moneyline: Patriots (-150) vs. Dolphins (+130)
  • Spread: Patriots -3
  • Total: 44 Points

Mac Jones and the New England Patriots open their season with a classic AFC East matchup against the Miami Dolphins and many believe that he is going to have his way right away for his NFL debut. People are quick to forget that this is a rookie quarterback in almost an entirely new offense that is going up against a top-10 defense from 2020.

The Patriots’ defense will be in full effect but they will be without their best player in the secondary, Stephon Gilmore, which could be the difference-maker for the Dolphins passing game.

Pick: Dolphins +130
