NEW YORK – The Las Vegas-based company Scientific Games Corporation (SGC) sports betting product “OpenSports” is now available in four states, continuing to expand their operations within the United States.
SG Corporation has added New York to its list of customers which also includes Mississippi, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The Oneida Indian Nation will offer SG’s OpenSports application to their patrons for sports betting at both of their upstate casino locations; the Turning Stone Resort and Point Place Casino.
“The OpenSports product suite has been transformed over the last 12 months by world-class engineering, product and UX teams. It can be tailored to fit the needs of any customer, and this launch, as our first tribal sports betting opportunity in the US is a perfect example of our truly flexible product solutions,” said Jordan Levin, Group Chief Executive for SG Digital. “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Oneida Indian Nation and to use our trusted technology to help them reach new bettors.”

In April 2019, SGC launched its “OpenSports” technology and it encompasses five different solutions.
OpenBet is the nucleus of OpenSports as it allows for the placing of sports wagers on events around the world. For the financial aspect of the platform, OpenPlatform offers the highest quality for account holders and the monetary portion of sports betting.
OpenAccelerate is geared toward the operators of the sportsbooks when it comes to running the daily business. OpenEngage allows sportsbooks to be accessed in multiple ways from mobile platforms to desktop platforms as well as in retail settings.
The final piece in the puzzle for OpenSports is OpenTrade. This part of the technology allows for odds and trading services.
“This evolution of our sportsbook products and services has been in line with our goal of providing unrivaled player experiences for our customers,” said Keith O’Loughlin, Senior Vice President for SG Digital. “The unification of our portfolio under a single brand allows us to help our customers connect better with their players and deliver next level engagement.”
New York is just the latest state to use OpenSports as their preferred tech provider for a sports betting platform. With its all-inclusive format, SGC hopes that other states will take notice and use their services. The Oneida Indian Nation is excited to be partnered with SGC and its products.
“The OpenSports solution allows us to focus on our guests while giving us a sturdy technological foundation on which we can build as the industry expands,” said Ray Halbritter, Oneida Nation Representative, and CEO of Nation Enterprises.
This expansion could include mobile sports betting, as under NY law customers will only be allowed to bet on sports at physical establishments. Currently, only states such as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Nevada have launched mobile wagering apps. With the state already competing for traffic with neighboring N.J., Oneida and SGC plan to unveil an online solution in the future.
