Sportsbook Gift Cards Available By Blackhawk Network For Holidays

PLEASANTON, Calif. – Sports betting gift cards for multiple sportsbooks are now on sale for the holidays brought to consumers by Blackhawk Network and Metabank.

The cards, called “Game On” can be found in New Jersey and Pennsylvania where the sports wagering industries have exploded in popularity.

It was the Blackhawk Network that developed the gift cards after surveying sports bettors in 2019 about their concerns when using sportsbooks, most notably mobile and online sports betting platforms. Metabank is the issuer for Game On.

Sports bettors in New Jersey and Pennsylvania will be able to buy Game On gift cards at a variety of retail locations and grocery stores, from Stop and Shop, ACME, Giant Eagle, and The Giant Company, as well as a number of other spots peppered throughout each state.

Game On is also available online at GetGameOn.com for those that cannot get to the stores this holiday season.

The sportsbooks that will accept this gift card as a form of payment for funding accounts are BetMGM, BetRivers/PlaySugarHouse, DraftKings, FanDuel, Parx Casino, and a few others. All of the accepted sportsbooks are listed on the back of each card. The smallest gift card available is $20 with the largest being $400. A fee between $3.95 and $5.95 will be added to the final purchase price for the cost of the card itself.

Blackhawk Network surveyed large sports wagering areas and asked gamblers for their comments and opinions on what they want from a sportsbook. A common trend among those involved in the survey was the issue of funding accounts.

Sports bettors had concerns about privacy and security regarding their personal information and wanted an option to be able to deposit money into their accounts to be able to bet on the games that weren’t their personal debit or credit cards or some form of cryptocurrency.

“People we’ve surveyed who have placed sports bets are clamoring for a payment option that provides increased control of spending and privacy, versus linking personal banking information when funding their sportsbook account. Our new Game On card helps address those concerns,” said Brett Narlinger, head of global commerce at Blackhawk Network.

Game On could be the new way for funding sportsbook accounts in the future depending on how well it does over the holidays. The gift cards are now available for purchase for people with a sports betting lover on their list in need of a gift this year.
