Sportsbooks Set Deion’s Buffaloes 2023 Total At 5.5 Wins

• Deion Sanders is the new head football coach at Colorado.
• The Colorado Buffalo have -115 odds to on both sides of their 5.5 win total in 2022-23.

BOULDER, Colo. –  It has been less than a month since Deion Sanders announced that he is leaving his head coaching job at Jackson State to become the new coach of the Colorado Buffaloes and oddsmakers are in a frenzy.

Following the news, legal online betting sites were quick to act in setting the win total for Colorado which is set at 5.5 wins following their 1-11 finish in the 2022 season.

It isn’t hard to see why college football sports betting sites set their win total as high as they did considering what Sanders has done as a head coach already. He took a Jackson State football team that finished under a .500 record in six of their last seven seasons to 11- and 12-win teams that won two straight SWAC championships.

Deion Not Showing Up Empty Handed

Something else to keep in mind about Deion’s new coaching job is that he has made it known that he is bringing several players with him. He even went as far as telling the current Colorado players to enter the transfer portal because he already has positions that are filled and that they are of “Louis Vuitton” standard.

One player, in particular, that is set to transfer from Jackson State to Colorado is Sanders’ son, Shedeur Sanders. Many are anticipating him to suit up as their QB1 after going for 3,200+ passing yards and 30+ touchdowns in his two seasons as the Jackson State QB. Sanders’ numbers at Jackson state in each season surpass the combined numbers that the starting QBs have put up for Colorado in their last two years.

Aside from his son though, it has been rumored that over 200 players in both recruits and high-profile transfer portal players have already reached out to Sanders with intentions of making their way to Boulder.

A source at Colorado tells me over 200 recruits and portal transfers have reached out in the last 12 hours.

Some of them are 4 and 5-star caliber players. Deion Sanders has a chance to make some noise before Signing Day.

One player in particular who is almost certainly transferring is the former number one recruit in the country, Travis Hunter, who Sanders forced to flip his commitment from his alma mater Florida State to play under him at Jackson State.

If Sanders can continue to recruit high-caliber players at the Power 5 level as he already has been, then betting on the Buffaloes to go over 5.5 wins should be a no brainer. With his recent history of turning around a below average team, it strengthens their case for the over even more.
