Super Bowl 54 Updated Second Half Odds Outlook

• The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers are tied 10-10 at half time.

MIAMI – The first-half of Super Bowl 54 has concluded, but that doesn’t mean that the betting odds have closed for the game.

When it comes to the traditional wager types, like the moneyline, spread, and Ove/Under, the odds have shifted. When it comes to the third-quarter Super Bowl odds specifically, the spread is set at -0.5 odds in favor of the Chiefs, the money line is set at -160 in favor of the 49ers and the Over/Under is sitting at 10.5 points.

Both teams seem evenly matched as the 10-10 box score suggests. The Chiefs started slow, just like their playoff games leading up the Super Bowl, but the second half has been kind in both their AFC playoff bouts. The 49ers, however, are a different kind of animal.

The 49ers have only allowed 4.6 points in the third quarter per game this season and they also only allow 5.7 points in the fourth quarter per game. Their defense has similarly played stout in the first half.

The 49ers have only allowed the Chief’s Patrick Mahomes-led offense to gain 103 yards passing and 52 yards of rushing. The Chiefs defense has also performed much better than the Packers did against the 49ers in the NFC Championship.

For the most part, the Chiefs have contained Raheem Mostert by only allowing him to gain 26 yards rushing and only allowed the 49ers to gain 88 yards rushing as the team.

In short, both defenses have come to play which helped to make the first half Under hit. If the teams continue to play the same way, look for the pregame 54.5 point Under to hit as well.
