ARCADIA, Calif. – TVG and FanDuel entered a multi-year partnership with the Breeders’ Cup on Tuesday.
TVG is the parent company that owns the FanDuel Group. Together, they will use their resources to help promote the Breeders’ Cup. The Breeders’ Cup will have a partnership in sports betting and daily fantasy sports (DFS). On top of that, on-line casino and TVG’s Advanced-Deposit Wagering are a part of this deal. This makes FanDuel and TVG the official wagering partners for the Breeders’ Cup.
The FanDuel and Breeders’ Cup partnership is one of the many that the gaming operator has forged in the US sports betting market. One such example is the FanDuel and NBA partnership. With the NBA partnership, FanDuel now has access to official NBA betting data. The DFS company will likely obtain similar data with the Breeders’ Cup.
TVG is producing a live show focusing on wagering called the “Breeders’ Cup Players Show.” The “Breeders’ Cup Win and You’re In” series is also going to be covered by TVG. Kip Levin, CEO of TVG and COO of FanDuel, wants to bring the Breeders’ Cup to the “front and center” for his customers.
“We are looking forward to not only enhancing our ability to cover the Breeders’ Cup races themselves but to devote more coverage and promotion to the lead-up through the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Win and You’re In Series,” said Levin. “This is a great opportunity to bring horse racing and the Breeders’ Cup front and center to our sports betting and daily fantasy customers and to introduce horse racing’s championship event to the next generation of racing fans.”
This partnership is not a one-way street. Both FanDuel and TVG will receive official sponsorship designation. Both TVG and FanDuel will receive spots in commercials during the Breeders’ Cup on NBC Sports. TVG will get their name in the title of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and the Breeders’ Cup Mile. Those are the two biggest races in the Breeders’ Cup. The winner of the juvenile race often becomes the favorite to win the next Kentucky Derby.
The Breeders’ Cup is one of the thoroughbred’s biggest races of the year. The Juvenile race will help set the tone for next years Triple Crown. This year’s Breeders’ Cup will be at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. The races will take place on November 1-2.
