• Miomni Gaming powers sports betting at both WV casinos that Delaware North owns as well as the BetLucky app.
  • Sports betting has been suspended at Delaware North properties and mobile app since March 6.
  • Miomni Gaming has been in a contract dispute with its technology supplier Entergaming.

WHEELING, W. Va. – After only six months of providing sports betting in West Virginia, Delaware North has decided to terminate its relationship with management services provider, Miomni.

Delaware North owns the Wheeling Island Casino, Mardi Gras Casino in Cross lanes, and the BetLucky mobile app and all of them have shut down their sports gambling operations since March 6 due to a contract dispute.

The original contract dispute was between Delaware North’s sports betting provider Miomni Gaming and Miomni’s technology supplier Entergaming.

In a letter sent to the WV Lottery director, John Myers, Delaware North President E. Brian Hansberry wrote:

“Most recently, Entergaming and Miomni have traded strong accusations with each other. By way of example. By way of example, Entergaming has claimed that Miomni used the Entergaming IP without proper rights and that Miomni has otherwise breached its agreement with Entergaming. Miomni has indicated that it suspects that Entergaming disabled the platform, and asserts that Entergaming’s demands for payment are simply inappropriate.”

While the main issue started between these two companies, the contract agreements between Delaware North and Miomni were also being affected.

“Prior to the interruption, DNGE was unaware of any challenge to the intellectual property use or ownership rights of the platform technology that Miomni claimed to possess,” wrote Hansberry.

After weeks of negotiations, Wheeling Island officials notified the WV Lottery Commission last Friday that they are working towards ending their partnership with Miomni.

Delaware North will continue to honor any bets made prior to the shutdown and will provide their customers with the steps they can take in order to access and withdraw their funds.

The company is also looking to find a new West Virginia sports betting partner to provide the activity in the future, but have not set a definite timetable for a relaunch.

For the time being, WV residents are still able to place their sports bets at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, Mountaineer Casino, and The Greenbrier.
