ORLANDO, Fla. – As the NBA restart is just under one month away, there is a growing concern about the likelihood of the season as the confirmed coronavirus cases in Florida have risen as of recent.

The confirmed cases in Florida have risen to an all-time high 9,585 cases were confirmed in a single day on June 20. Florida is approaching the 94,000 mark of cases and at that rate, they will become the epicenter of the virus.

With the NBA restart heading to Florida, Adam Silver has remained calm on the situation as he has made it clear that no options for the seasons restart are risk-free and that the league is comfortable starting the season in Orlando.

Still, legal sports betting sites have different odds listed on if the season will be affected by this or not.

In terms of the odds for the NBA starting on time, bettors should feel comfortable betting on those odds being that Adam Silver has already hunkered down on the leagues’ decision to move forward with the restart.

“If we were to have significant spread of coronavirus through our community, that ultimately might lead us to stopping,” said Adam Silver. “But we’re working closely with the players’ association, with Disney, and with public health officials in Florida as to what that line should be… I think we want to get down on the ground and start to see how our testing’s working and how the protocols are working and then we’ll make decisions as we go.”

As long as the bubble does not get an overabundance of cases, the league’s restart should finish the whole way through.
