BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Although many of the major sporting leagues global are still in limbo about when they’ll be able to return to action, the Wind Creek Bethlehem Casino has filed a petition to offer sports betting to their customers in the fall.
The petition was sent to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board which will have the final say but legal sports betting should be coming to the Wind Creek Bethlehem Casino by the end of the year.
The casino already offers table games, slots, a poker room and a live dealer stadium gaming. Adding sports betting to the gambling menu should help the casino recover some of the lost revenue due to the coronavirus.
Of the 12 licensed casinos in Pennsylvania, all but Wind Creek and Lady Luck Casino have filed a sports betting petition. This could be the first of many moves for the Wind Creek casino as they look to expand their operations into an online casino and online poker room in the near future.
There is no set date on when Pennsylvania’s Gaming Board will approve the filing but according to the Morning Call the petition being filed aligns plans by Wind Creek to offer sports betting by late summer this year which would allow the casino to take advantage of the NFL, NBA, MLB, and College Football betting among other sports.
Earlier this year Wind Creek recently struck a deal with Betfred who would be in charge of running the casinos sportsbook and online sports betting props further showing their commitment to bringing their operations online.
