World Series Game 6: Snell Returns Against Dodger Bullpen

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Tampa Bay Rays are officially on the ropes. Heading into Game 6 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Rays find themselves just one loss away from the end of their dream run to the Fall Classic.

On the other side, manager Dave Roberts and his Dodgers are just one game away from capturing the championship that has eluded them for so many years now.

It will all come down to the action on the field Tuesday night, where both teams will pull out all of the stops to try and capture the biggest prize in the world of baseball. The focus will once again be on the pitchers for Game 6, with the Rays going with former Cy Young winner Blake Snell against a presumptuous bullpen game for the Dodgers.

Los Angeles will start with Tony Gonsolin on the mound, and gets the edge to win via the major online sportsbooks.

If the Dodgers want to end this series Tuesday, they will have to go through Snell, who is more than ready to be the guy his team leans in on this high-pressure situation.

“I’m pretty excited,” said Snell. “It’s going to be a game that we have to win. I’m excited that I’m in a position that I can pitch Game 6. … That’s a tough team over there, and we’re gonna have to keep playing really, really good baseball.”

Snell currently owns a 3.33 ERA and a 2-2 record through five postseason starts this season, including a win in Game 2 of this World Series. Snell had a no-hitter through the fifth inning with nine strikeouts before escaping with just two earned runs on the day.

For the Dodgers, they will go with a group effort in Game 6, a strategy that had previously run into some trouble in this series as well as in the NLCS against the Atlanta Braves.

They will begin things with Tony Gonsolin, but will surprise no one if they have additional arms warming up in the pen as early as the first inning.

Even without the presence of a true starting pitcher, MLB bookies still gave the Dodgers the edge in this game. Taking the plus money on Snell is not a bad idea, but bettors should know that LA dominates the overall odds to win the title.
