Zelenskyy Favored for Back-to-Back Person of the Year

• The Time Person of the Year award is expected to be announced near the end of the year.

NEW YORK – The award for the 2023 Time Person of the Year is set to be announced around November of this year. Early odds favor Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to win the award for the second year in a row amid the continuous conflict occurring throughout the country.

Following Zelenskyy is USA President Joe Biden as well as CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter Elon Musk, who each sport +700 and +750 odds, respectively. With much time left to go, it is likely that odds will eventually shorten on legal betting sites.

Why Zelenskyy is a Likely Lock to Win

In the eyes of Time Magazine, Zelenskyy is not only the favorite, but should be the likely winner pending any unforeseen events happening with other important world leaders.

While Joe Biden and Elon Musk have largely presided over aid and various helpful gestures for Ukraine, it is Zelenskyy who has led the country through their conflict for well over a year now. With Zelenskyy already winning the award last year, much of the same justification for a repeat win is likely.

This is for good reason too, as Zelenskyy has not only functioned as a symbol of the ongoing fighting spirit of Ukraine, but the country has also engaged in a war of attrition for well over a year when the prevailing notion during February of 2022 would be that the country was to be taken over in a matter of days. Zelenskyy has thus been at the forefront of this message and the unwavering determination by Ukraine to protect their homeland firmly places Zelenskyy as the betting favorite.

With all of this in mind it would be ill-advised to bet on the other options as even at the very short odds, Zelenskyy is likely to only become more favored with Time as Ukraine continues to hold their ground against the invading Russian forces.

Thus, the best advice is to either completely fade the prospect of betting on the 2023 Person of the Year or to have a decent chunk of bankroll on Zelenskyy winning, as major turnover would have to occur in the next six or so months for anyone else to possibly win. Before odds shift any further, now would be as good of a Time as any to lock in the pick on legal entertainment books.
